Every year, from March to December, the IFREMER / REMORA network carries out a survey of mortality, growth and quality criteria of two oyster batches ("juveniles" = one-year ciass ; and "adults" = two-years class), distributed among various stations of the main French oyster areas. In Brittany, this network includes 11 points, to which regional points can be added (15 in 2000). With regard to the Breton stations of the network, the year 2000 showed rather low mortality rates, excepted mortality of several oysters when transfered to the sea. Several areas however had higher mortality rates (> 20%) : l'Arguenon, Morlaix, les Abers, Pen-Bé and Le Croisic. 2000 is a year of good growth in South Brittany (72.8 g in December), more average in North Brittany... |
